Beneath the creaking floors and ancient stone of Bube’s Brewery, a gathering of shadows awaits. Haunt the Readers is a chilling celebration of horror and thriller fiction where authors emerge with tales meant to unsettle the brave and delight the daring. As candlelight flickers and the past presses close, guests are invited to sip, listen, and wander through stories born in darkness and whispered into life. For two nights only, the line between reader and nightmare blurs—enter if you dare, linger if you must, and remember… the catacombs are always watching.
Ticket Information
Authors will be signing Saturday August 1st 10:00 am - 4:00 pm. Books will be sold at the event and you can bring books from home to have signed!
ALL Tickets come with an autograph book!
All tickets include the Friday Night Party!

It’s Almost time!!
Parking is free, check out the parking map!
Wear comfortable shoes. Bring bags or a backpack to carry your books. Carts will not work because of the stairs (there are no elevators). You can leave the event to go to your car and unload/load books. You will have a lanyard with id badge that allows you to come and go from the event.
The bookstore will have an order sheet to fill out when you are ready to buy books and will text you when your order is ready to pick up. That way there is not a large line for the bookstore. If you have any questions for the bookstore, contact bookbarus@gmail.com.
Bring cash! Cash tips will make it easier for the bartenders. Some of our event staff are indie authors and their books will be for sale at a table and cash will make it an easier transaction. Our tshirt booth will appreciate Cash as well, but will also be able to take cards.
If there will be rain/storms on Friday July 31st and we can’t use the Biergarten for the Friday Night Party, please check your emails and/or social media for information.
Tips for each ticket holder:
VIP
If you are arriving on Thursday and planning on going to Bube's for dinner, to hangout and to check out the place, please make your reservation! We have free tickets up for a historical tour with the owner at 2:45pm on Thursday. This will be the only historical tour he will be doing that weekend because of the event. It will take about an hour.
We will start checking people in at 8:00 am and opening the doors at 8:30 am. Check in will be located in the front of the hotel on the point patio. Each VIP swag bag may contain different books, you can swap books with other VIPs if you wish to do so! Each bag will contain a few of the same books as well as others that are different. If you are coming with your partner or family member and want a bag that doesn't have the same books as eachother, email us at hauntthereaders@gmail.com. We will have extras of those bags as well at check in as well!
The bar will be open at 8:30 am and will be serving Boozey Coffee, Mimosas and Bloody Mary's. The coffee/iced coffee bar will be open, please be patient as it may take some time to get through. There will be a preorder pick up table for anyone who preordered their books.
For panels, just arrive at the panel you would like to attend. There will be more than enough room at each panel so everyone has a seat.
Early Entry & Afternoon Entry Tickets
We will start checking people in around 4:30 pm for the Friday Night Party. Check in will be located in the front of the hotel on the point patio. We HIGHLY recommend arriving at that time or a little before. We will ask you if you are more of a thriller reader or horror reader. There may be some surprises!
We will open the doors around 5:00 pm. Please be patient with the servers when ordering dinner. There will be a large amount of you entering at the same time, so it may take a bit to get seated. You may be able to get some of your books signed that night..
We will have event staff available to walk you to your car if you would like, when you are ready to leave the party.
Saturday Only Tickets
We will be checking people in at 11:00 am and letting them in the Biergarten to buy books from the bookstore.

You can take the train to a block away from Bubes Brewery. It will be at the Amtrak Mount Joy stop. Our local airport to the event is the Harrisburg International Airport.

Ultimately, CASH is king. However, there will be credit readers available for book store purchases, food and drink purchases but we highly recommend CASH for authors that have books at their tables.

Absolutely! However PLEASE NO ROLLER CARTS. This is due to the historic nature of the building and it will be tough to maneuver.

The VIPs are covered for lunch and dinner Friday and lunch on Saturday. The Bottling Works will be Open at 5PM on Friday and at 12pm on Saturday for attendees.
The Catacombs restaurant at Bubes Brewery will be open for reservations, but are reservation ONLY. Click here for reservations and menu.
